Eden East is a secure center and is designed for the unique needs of people with memory loss. They are typically in the middle or later stages of dementia or are at risk for walking away from the center. The staff members working in the center are specially trained and enjoy working with people with dementia.
The staff provide meaningful activities in a format that focuses on remaining strengths, gives the clients an opportunity for success and to simply have fun together. There are activities for groups and also choices for individuals. The structure of each day and management of the amount of environmental stimulation benefits people with memory loss. There are recliners available for those who need an opportunity to rest.
A continental breakfast, a tasty, balanced dinner and a snack are provided each day. Therapeutic or mechanically altered diets can be served as needed.
Assistance with personal care, walking, transferring and eating is available as necessary. The center is managed by a nurse each day.
